So, far I'm enjoying it, but it is a bit hard to keep up with all the names of people. I hope I am keeping them all straight!

Sarah - I will definitely put them on my list. I just got a notice from the library today that the audio copy of The Pioneer Woman was in. I am looking forward to reading it per your recommendation. I have not read Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. I have been meaning to read something by Lisa See (I think that is the author), but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I have not read Jodi's latest book. I am on hold for the library's Nook and I think that is one of the titles on it, so I was thinking of trying it then.

Sarah comments on reader's block update

My sister recommended the memoir, Lit by Mary Karr (sounds a little like The Glass Castle). Another memoir I'm in the middle of.....The Blueberry Years (think Animal, Vegetable, Miracle which I am listening to on audio and LOVING Barbara K's voice!). Just finished Little Bee but didn't love it. Have you read Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet? Let me know what you think of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn please. Have you read Jodi Piccoult's most recent book, Sing You Home? Thoughts? Let's plan to Skype this week! Your brother is in rough shape after the Gundersen Cup soccer tournament this weekend. He has to run the residenct-staff race tonight yet. There have been a lot of references to being old this weekend! =) Miss you!

Noreen comments on reader's block update

Hi, Becky: I finished "In the Garden of Beasts" last Friday night. I had given up on this blog! Although, a book shelf arranged by color sounds very artistic and fun, what a pain to find a book!!! I'd need to buy some books to make mine more colorful anyway. Maybe I should try it with the kids books-much more managable and no need to buy any books!

Becky comments on Screencasts and LibraryThing

I noticed your links to SOM on your blog, yesterday and bookmarked it for future use. Thanks for the suggestions. What I liked most about SnapZ was that I could do the screencast and audio separate. I added the audio using iMovie that way I had a decent screencast before I tried to add audio which was the most challenging part for me!

Jess comments on Screencasts and LibraryThing

I use Screencast-o-Matic (free or $5 for a pro version to remove the watermark) and Jing Pro (they have a free version, but the pro version is $15/year and has YouTube direct export and lets you download the movie files for saving/editing) for most of the screencasts that I make for my library. Both of these work on a Mac. The more expensive options have great features, but we've pretty much decided that we want our videos to be easy to create since we know we'll have to update all the time anyway. We do have Adobe Captivate for full on tutorials that need interaction, but for the most part, SOM and Jing work fine. I've actually started using SOM more often because it comes with pre-set screen sizes. I never seemed to get the ratio right using Jing.

Becky comments on Discussion of The Women by T.C.
