I am blessed to have all four of my grandparents alive.  Unfortunately, I do not get to see them as often as I should.  In August both the Smiths and the Pernsteiners celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversaries.  Joel and I have been married for 8 years and I pray that we are able to grow old together and reach this wonderful milestone. 

We celebrated with the Pernsteiners (my mom's parents) with a picnic at the park with their friends and family after church.  Many of Grandma and Grandpa's sibblings were able to make it to the event, along with all of their children, most of the their grandchildren and even their two great-grandchildren. We celebrated with the Smiths (my dad's parents) by painting and staining their house.  Let me just say, painting is so much more fun when you are working with lots of people and you are doing it for someone who really appreciates it.  For more photos from that event, check out flickr.

It was great to catch up with the grandparents and other family members.  I only wish we did stuff like this more often.     ~br
