Working from Home This Week

Because it is a short work week, Joel arranged to work remotely from home this week instead of traveling to CA. It saves the company money and lets us have a more "normal," meaning more like everyone else, work week. The pros of this arrangment is that he gets to work from anywhere he wants as long as he has his laptop and a high speed Internet connection. If you notice in the photos there are two laptops. The one on the arm of the chair is his work one, although he does much of his work from his personal laptop, there are a few things he needs to do on the work laptop. He "dials" in to his work PC that lives in California, so he is actually using a third computer to do his work. If you hadn't guessed it before, technology is our friend and allows Joel to be mobile. Now, I would like to comment on Joel's set-up. We do have a couple tables and desks in the house but as you can see Joel's favorite location is next to the window on the love seat with the big dog. He can see what is going on in the neighborhood--the giant leaf vacuum just picked up secon leaf pile of the season and the Century 21 agent stopped at our neighbors house which is currently for sale by owner.
Molly and Cammie are thrilled because having Joel home means someone
else to hang out with when I'm at work and very little time in their crates. By the way, Sahra, the dog trainer tells me that female dogs bond better with men and male dogs bond better with women. This might explain why when Joel comes home for the weekend the dogs usually hang out with him more even though I am the one that feeds, walks and takes care of their every need when he is traveling during the week.
Well, it is about time I need to get ready for work because some of us have to still go into the office this week and actually comb our hair before we start our work day... good thing Joel's conference call is just audio and not video!
