We celebrated Christmas with my mom's side of the family--the Pernsteiners--in Medford, WI. You can check out more photos from the event here. We drove to Medford on Friday night before the weather got bad on Saturday. One of my of my favorite parts of the holidays is getting together with family. When we get together with the Pernsteiners, there is always good food and a game. This year Thomas and Katie each received Scrabble, so after presents some of us sat down to a competitive game...Katie beat Heather, Carrie and I. Joel, Leif and I had to get on the road soon after because the weather was sounding pretty nasty in La Crosse Three hours and thirty minutes later we made to La Crosse (on Friday it only took us two hours and forty-five minutes). As we got closer to La Crosse the roads got worse. In Onalaska on Hwy 53, a car behind us slid into a guard rail. We were lucky it didn't slide into us, it started its slipping as it tried to pass us. Joel and I dropped Leif off at his parents' house and went on to our house.
